Jealousy, Joy & New Relationship Energy: How to Begin Polyamory Without Losing Yourself
#Newcomers #NewRelationshipEnergy
Time: TBD, Location: Newcomers Stage
Starting polyamory can feel like learning to swim in an emotional ocean. This 50-minute immersive session is your beginner-friendly life raft.
We’ll break down the emotional undercurrents of consensual non-monogamy with warmth, clarity, and real tools you can use from day one. Whether you’re poly-curious, newly navigating open dynamics, or exploring with a partner for the first time, this session will help you understand your feelings—and your options.
We’ll cover:
What “NRE” (New Relationship Energy) really is, and how to ride its waves with grace
-The physiology of jealousy (and how to soothe it instead of shame it)
-What “compersion” is and how to gently cultivate it, even if it feels impossible
-Beginner mistakes to watch for (and loving ways to course-correct)
-Book recs, language tools, and a Q&A space to ask that question you’re afraid to ask
Expect a mix of storytelling, body awareness, and gentle humor. You don’t need a partner to attend—just curiosity, and maybe a notebook.

Tanya Jarvik, Relationship Consultant, Radically Rooted
Getting to Yes, Yes, Yes: How to Make (and Keep!) ENM Relationship Agreements
#Newcomers #Agreements
Time: TBD, Location: Newcomers Stage
Are you new to Ethical Nonmonogamy? Have you and your partner(s) been making up the “rules” as you go along? Do you struggle with feeling controlled by your partner’s requests, or do you make requests that your partner feels are controlling? Are you hoping there’s a way to bring order to the chaos of open relating...without sacrificing anyone’s autonomy? In this presentation, you’ll learn how to decrease conflict and increase intimacy by making agreements that honor both personal autonomy and interpersonal connection. We will cover how to identify underlying needs, why agreements are more effective than rules, why including a "sunset clause" can reduce resentment, and what to do when an agreement is broken.

Storytelling Open Mic
#Newcomers #Storytelling
Time: TBD, Location: Newcomers Stage
The Storytelling Open Mic is a warm, welcoming space where attendees are encouraged to grab the mic and share real, heartfelt moments from their lives in consensual non-monogamy. It’s part of the core programming included with the Expo Badge. Whether you're inspired to tell a story about love, growth, funny mishaps, or profound insight, this is a low-pressure platform designed to honor diverse voices and lived experiences .
The open mic offers attendees an opportunity not just to listen, but to actively contribute to the tapestry of Polyamory Expo—laughing, reflecting, and connecting in equal measure. Storytellers of all backgrounds are welcomed to step up, support one another, and deepen the collective experience of celebrating polyamorous life.

The "Many-Wallet" Problem: How to Share Finances When You’re Poly

Money is one of the hardest areas with which to relate, and money struggles are one of the biggest sources of relationship conflict. That’s challenging enough in monogamy, but what happens when you add in multiple relationships? In this talk, participants will learn the different ways that people in relationships can share finances, the differences between mono and poly financial arrangements, and how to build ethical, intentional arrangements that serve everyone involved.

Kristy Hoad, Attorney, The Law Offices of Jenny Ling PLLC
Estate Planning for Polyamory Families
#Legal
Time: TBD, Location: Session Room TBD
Whether you realize it or not, you have an estate. Everyone does. Your estate encompasses all your possessions, regardless of their size or value, and no matter your age or family status, you need a plan to manage it effectively. During our talk we will discuss:
The State’s plan for you and why you might want to opt your family out of it
Why simple form documents do not work and what you want instead
Additional considerations for queer and poly families
What your next steps are if you want to be sure you and your family would be well-taken care of, if anything happens to you.

Polyamory and My Shadow
#Anxiety
Time: TBD, Location: Session Room TBD
Join Trish Simone Wild for an intimate exploration of how polyamory became her unexpected teacher in confronting lifelong patterns of anxiety, conflict avoidance, and people pleasing. Drawing from her journey spanning two decades—from her tumultuous early experiences in her 20s without the language or tools to navigate multiple loving relationships, to her current thriving polyamorous arrangement in her 40s—Trish shares how the unique challenges of loving multiple partners forced her to face her shadows and develop authentic communication skills. This candid session weaves personal stories of heartbreak and growth with practical insights on embracing uncomfortable emotions, setting boundaries, and cultivating relationships based on radical honesty rather than fear. Whether you're polyamorous, poly-curious, or simply interested in personal growth, you'll leave with valuable tools for sitting with discomfort and transforming relationship patterns.

Dr Jeni Wahlig, Cofounder & CEO, PowerfuLove, @PowerfuLoveLgbt
Taking the Lead in Love: Why It Only Takes One Person to Change Everything
#Relationships
Time: TBD, Location: Session Room TBD
Most of us have been taught that it takes two people to change a relationship—but this belief keeps too many people stuck, disempowered, and waiting for someone else to change. In this presentation, I’ll share why the real key to transforming your relationship is you. Whether you're in a complex polyamorous dynamic, navigating recurring conflict with a partner, or craving more connection, I’ll show you how to shift your relational dynamic —without needing anyone else to change first. This isn’t about control, or doing it all alone. It’s about embodying your power, leading from love, and watching everything change because of it.

Heidi Savell, LCSW Therapist and Coach, Steady Polyamory, @SteadyPolyamory
Boundaries That Work: How to Set Limits That Support Love, Communication, and Growth
#Boundaries
Time: TBD, Location: Session Room TBD
Join me as we take a deep dive into what boundaries are and how they can be a powerful tool in strengthening your relationships and your polyamory practice.
We'll unpack some of the myths and misconceptions about boundaries, discuss the different kinds of boundaries and when to use them, and walk through the four crucial steps of setting an effective boundary.
You'll come away with a step-by-step guide for setting (and maintaining!) healthy and sustainable boundaries that you can apply to all of your relationships.

How to identify your ‘big rocks’—the non-negotiables that anchor your calendar.
How to align your schedule with your values so you’re fully present where it matters most.
Strategies from polyamory, entrepreneurship, and flow science to maximize joy and fulfillment in your time management.
Hands-on exercises: You’ll jot down your own priorities, discuss with a partner, and leave with a personalized framework for scheduling what truly matters.

Every event is designed to spark genuine connection in a fun, inclusive setting.
We believe social connection should be accessible, so we keep ticket prices affordable without compromising on atmosphere or experience. Our signature events—like 80s Prom: A Black-Tie Dance Party on August 23—feature live DJs, glamorous venues, and great vibes at a price most people can say yes to.
We also believe in giving back. A portion of each event’s proceeds goes toward supporting local nonprofits, helping to amplify organizations doing good work in our community.
