Enhanced Volunteer Program
Important changes in our volunteer program!
VOLUNTEER ALERT

We are very proud to introduce important changes in our volunteer program! We value the input of previous volunteers and are always looking for ways to improve the volunteer experience, so the changes we have made are intended to both improve the volunteer experience and maintain the levels of professionalism and accountability that are expected.
New Volunteer Roles and Application Process
As a way of reducing ambiguity we have come up with well-defined volunteer positions that will be posted on Indeed. Each role is designed in a way that volunteers would know what they are expected to do and how it helps the events. To increase the effectiveness of our recruiting process, every application shall be evaluated by the Board of Directors and the candidates shall be taken through a video call interview. This way, we can improve clarity in expectations all around.
Improved Engagement and Training
To assist our volunteers in their functions, there is a 30-minute training session for all volunteers, required annually. This training will provide them with the information and tools they need to excel in their positions and will also serve to educate them about Evergreen Hearts’ mission and guidelines. Volunteers will work for the length of one event, including the time spent getting ready for the event and the time after the event for feedback and follow-up. This ensures that there is a distinct beginning and end to every volunteer position and that we continually seek volunteer feedback to help shape the future.
Formalized Volunteer Agreement
To ensure that everyone understands what is expected of them and to make everyone accountable for their actions, we have come up with a Volunteer Agreement that contains several components for each volunteer. Some of the important parts of this document include volunteer role responsibilities, a Code of Conduct, a Confidentiality Agreement, and a Dating Policy to avoid any conflicts of interest. This policy prohibits volunteers from reporting to anyone with whom they have a personal relationship that involves romantic, sexual, dating or play elements, thus ensuring that everyone is able to work in an environment that is free from personal biases.
A Step Forward in Volunteer Engagement
These enhancements reflect our unwavering dedication to creating a nurturing atmosphere for both volunteers and participants. By implementing these changes, we believe we can build a stronger organization that supports the educational events we host and amplifies the voices of all involved. Evergreen Hearts is committed to continuous improvement, and we look forward to creating a more enriching volunteer experience.
These improvements are an expression of our passion to develop a nurturing atmosphere for all volunteers. By implementing these changes, we believe we can build a stronger organization that supports the educational events we host and amplifies the voices of all involved. Evergreen Hearts is always evolving and we are excited to create a better volunteer experience for everyone.
